Can anyone explain why trading was made end-game only content for this server? Is this a way to combat inflation or something?

Hello,
You are not meant to trade alone. Search for trader guilds and join them or their union or as friends. Then join caravans or ask for a hunter friend to defend you when you go for a trade.

Which makes it End-Game content. I haven't found any max level hunters that are willing to help a level 40 do 1* trades...

Hello,
Ask trader/hunter players when caravans happen and just join them.
Also try to make trader then most thief are not online. Ask other players around for advise. There are no Free trades here.

So if you have a job in real life, and a limited time frame to play in, then trading is simply not an option.
Well thanks for replying. Have a good day.

Maby there are a lot of trade caravans in the time frame you have to play in. Not in mine. Only ones i've seen are max lvls that i get K/Oed by their NPC spawns. On top of that they never even acknowledge me. I'm nearing FGW and looking at the 2.2 mill i gotta spend a run, and no way to make any money to afford that. Bottom line trade runs have been made as End-Game only content on this server, unless you live in the privileged time zone.

I get that you don't want any "free" trades, so how about this.
Can you make atleast the first couple 1* trades of the day only attackable by thieves within 5 lvls of the traders.
This gives the trader a fighting chance to defend themselves, and a little more time to make it to their destination while the high lvls are switching to their pimped out noob chars to K/O him.
This also ensures that new thieves can have targets to attack, and won't be competing with max lvls for the loot.
This way there are no "free" trades, but it is still a little more fair for everyone.

Why are you saying this server? The game has always been like this lol. . Unless you play a Pserver that skips the grind and go straight to max level, with PVP/Job Wars. .
