Game crashes on startup

Hello,

I have performed several attempts at installing and launching the game but I cannot manage to get the client to start running. I have performed the full download (tried all the different sources provided on the webpage) and installation with my firewall and antivirus disabled, as well as included the components to the DEP exception rules. Additionally, i found in the logs that hpmalert.dll often cause issues, so I stopped the service entirely while attempting to run the game. However, either the Launcher or the Client itself crash on startup. Faulting modules in event viewer are often just Launcher.exe or OriginClient.exe. I've attempted to launch using all compatibility settings (admin, all compatibility versions: win8, win7, win vista (vanilla/sp1/sp2) & win xp (vanilla/sp1/sp2). Any help would be appreciated.

Make sure your graphics card's drivers are updated.
The game only works on Windows Vista and up.
Something else is corrupting the game files, or your Windows installation is damaged.
You can also try on a different computer.

Thanks for the quick response. I double checked, and everything should be OK. However, I still experience crashes on startup of either the Launcher or the Client. I'm not going to try it on a different computer, since this is my gaming machine while my other pc is only used for work-related purposes. I'm afraid I will give up on trying to make it work. Keep up the good work on a bot-free server. Would have been nice to enjoy.

Hello,

As it turns out, Sophos Endpoint Agent antivirus still operates in the background even when disabling it and adding exceptions. After uninstalling the antivirus and replacing it by another one, the install worked and the game launches just fine. I guess it's just by nature incompatible with this antivirus package. Hope to see you on the server ;)
