Hi,
My girlfriend was casually playing with me on Origin and after a week she got a message when starting the launcher.
"You have exceeded maximal number of executed copies. Application won't be started"
I didn't know what to do since every other PC in the house was turned off and it still didn't want to work.
I tried to reboot her laptop and checked processes and didn't find anything related to Origin.
I even replaced her laptop's HDD with my old SSD and did a FRESH WINDOWS INSTALLATION!!!
Still get the message................. what the hell?
How is this possible? HEEEEEEELP

Hello,
Close the game. then Check for originclient.exe or launcher.exe in your process list.

I tried to reboot her laptop and checked processes and didn't find anything related to Origin.
There is nothing related to Origin in the processes. That's what I checked first and even after a reboot she gets the same error.

Try on another PC. Something is wrong with that one.

After some more research I found out why she had this message.
In fact the launcher can't find the login server and takes really long time to appear. That's why she always tried to launch it again and got the message.
That's also why there was no process in the task manager after clicking ok.
So the real problem is not the message I took a picture of but the fact that the launcher can't find the server.
When you are patient you get the "the server is undergoing inspections or update....." message.
I repeat that no other PC is connected to origin at the moment.
I tried turning off windows defender's firewall and it's not better. I tried to install the game somewhere else and I get "missing Origin binaries game will close"
I installed back in default directory and keep investigating.
Launching in admin didn't help.
Edit: I tried connecting through my phone's 4G shared connection. Didn't help.
Is there some kind of line to add at the end of her host file in system32?

No, there is not.
Try completely disabling defender and firewall. then reinstall the game, then try again with home conection then with mobile Hotspot.

I did and it's not working............
I'm doing a restore health and sfc/scannow
Loosing hope, I don't know what's wrong and the only thing I can find about this error is adding a line in the host file.
Edit: not fixed.
Could it be because it's using a local admin user?

There is no need to edit your hosts file. Something is wrong with that PC
